Westerlands Care Home absolutely loves visits from Lunar Eclipse Therapy Horses. The horses are incredible with our residents, and everyone truly lights up when they see their friends arrive. The connection between the horses and our residents is genuinely special.
Not only is the bond with the horses wonderful, but the owner of Lunar Eclipse, Cherene, is also exceptional at building meaningful relationships with our residents. She gave one lady a real sense of purpose by encouraging her to knit horses for use during future visits, which has been incredibly rewarding. Cherene also allowed us to be part of a filming opportunity, choosing our wee home to feature during her STV appearance. This was an amazing experience for our residents and something we are very grateful for. We look forward to many more visits, continuing to work with Cherene, and hopefully collaborating on more projects together in 2026 ❤️

As a teacher of pupils with complex needs, i didn’t know what to expect when my pupils met shereen who had brought daisy and teddy from lunar eclipse to our school , I was personally overwhelmed and moved by the relationship between the horses and my pupils, one of the horses sought out one of my pupils and stayed close beside him and even gave him kisses…the joy on his face was palpable, it was very moving to see and it brought tears to my eyes. This was a relationship established by Teddy with that pupil. It was amazing to witness. Once people in our school saw the horses they came from all corners of the school - they attracted so many adults and pupils alike. I would highly recommend a visit from lunar Eclipse to any environment, they bring so much consolation to all
Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back with my camera. There’s a calmness around the ponies that settles you the moment you arrive, and watching how people respond to them is something I never take for granted. Some moments are quiet, some are full of laughter, but all of them feel genuine. Being able to capture that... the softness, the connection, the sense of safety they create, is a privilege. I always leave feeling lighter and grateful to be part of their journey.
